before and after the birth

i’ve changed things up a bit. i am teaching a one night, two hour class on thursday, september 4th and a two week saturday morning class totaling eight hours. i hope this option will work since i will be taking some time off.

so much time has pasted!!! i have experienced some computer ‘complications’ and now things seem to be better!? my photo page still isn’t working but hopefully that will be fixed very soon.

right now i am just teaching a monday night class. i will start another class on tuesday, august 19th. i will be taking a rather large break after that because i am expecting my fourth babe in december. i am unsure when i will start my first class after the baby arrives. if you are due in 2009 send me an email and we can try to work something out.

things were a little crazy last week!!  my old .com domain is now owned by a man in indonesia.  i couldn’t help support him by paying him the big bucks that he required so i switched to a .org.  life could be worse!!??

i start a class tonight with only four couples…i haven’t had only four couples in almost four years!!?  my may class is already full so that’s good.

i am now teaching class in my living room instead of the barn.  i guess it’s nice not having to drive the two blocks!??  it’s not so much fun keeping my house clean for my monday and tuesday night guests but i’ll survive!?  i do like the fact that my couples get to meet my family.

i just finished reading born in the usa by marsden wagner, m.d. and i strongly encourage you to read it too!!  it was very sad and very empowering at the same time.  it talks about how our broken maternity system must be fixed so that women and children are put first!!  the book outlines what needs to change and how to go about it.  i’d like to think my class helps promote change in our community…there is so much more that needs to be done!!!!!!!!

i am looking forward to the 3rd annual natural living expo this saturday march 1st.  i will be there all day and i hope to see past clients and meet some new clients as well.  if you’d like more information about the expo please check out www.naturallivingexpo.org.

things are going well…i have two great classes going and many one night classes planned as well.  i have been talking to quite a few VBACers and i am very excited to have some in class.  today lisha and joe had a wonderful drug free VBAC and i couldn’t be happier for them!!!  sherri and bradley had their first baby last week completely drug free…way to go!!  i am so proud of everyone who takes the time to get educated!!!

happy 2008!!  i am looking forward to another busy year helping moms and dads in our community.  i still teach two childbirth classes a week and that works out perfect for my family and for my couples.  i really enjoy the time i spend teaching…i have met so many amazing people!!!  i hope to start a postpartum class soon.  maybe i will find more interested couples this year!!??

i am happy to announce that as of this week i will be teaching a monday night  and a tuesday night childbirth class…that’s huge for me!!!  i have had lots of interest which is terrific to see.  i hope that more women in our community realize that it’s not enough to just say you want a natural childbirth.  you really need to get educated and prepare mentally, physically and emotionally!!  my class is an excellent way to meet like minded individuals and share ideas and goals in a safe non judgemental environment. it’s crazy to think about all the couples who enter the hospital without even a clue as to what to expect (despite the fact that they’ve read what to expect when you’re expecting).  i like to think that i’m making a difference around here but, i know that there is so much more to be done!!
