things here are going well. i’m still teaching childbirth education on monday and tuesday nights and saturday mornings. my tuesday morning postpartum class is always a highlight of the week for tula and i.

it’s tuesday…had another postpartum class this morning. i can’t tell you how empowered i feel when i look around my space and see all those sweet babies and beautiful mamas. life is good. we are all so fortunate.

I am thrilled to announce that my friend and former client Tammy Watkins D.C. and I are opening a prenatal and postpartum center at 2614 Beaver Avenue. We still have a lot of work to do to get it ready for all our mamas, daddies and babies…our ‘due date’ is early November. I will be teaching childbirth and postpartum classes and also offering breastfeeding and postpartum support. Tammy will be specializing in prenatal and postpartum chiropractic care and labor support as well. The center will also offer prenatal/postpartum massage therapy and yoga, baby massage classes, movie nights, clothing swaps, mother blessings…so many ideas I could go on all day! We’ll also be selling baby slings, carriers and wraps and products made by local mamas and daddies.

This is something that I have wanted to do in our community since I had my first daughter almost twelve years ago. I couldn’t be more excited that it is finally happening!! Everyone will be welcome…

okay my three oldest are in school so it’s just tula and i that are around during the day. if you need breastfeeding help let me know…we travel. also tula will show you what/where you need to baby proof…such a valueable service…thank you tula!

hola!

i am starting a saturday morning class on june 19th. i have never taught class on the weekends so this should be fun. my daughter mae works at the farmer’s market and we head downtown around 6:45am. i’ll do my shopping and be ready to teach at 9:00. i think it should work out splendidly!

we had our childbirth reunion party at the walnut woods lodge a few weeks ago…excellent turn out! it was so nice to see all my amazing couples with their beautiful, sweet babies. everyone brought such fantastic food as well…good times!! my one year old daughter tula looked like a giant walking around and trying to sit in everyone’s car seats.
i end a class tonight and start a new one next week. i have been keeping very busy which is great. in june i will be starting a tuesday morning postpartum group…i can’t wait for that!

stay hydrated and when you are hungry reach for protein.
